"Start each day...

by asking God what he wants you to do. Then ask Him for the strength to do it."

The homily at this morning's mass was not a long one, but I have a terrible memory and as usual forgot within minutes what it was about. As was Father was walking back to the presider's chair, he threw the above quoted in for good measure. Simple as it is, it stuck with me.

Christ with me, Christ within me...

St. Patrick "Breastplate" Prayer.

Mark in 2008 with his St. Patrick's Breastplate!

Christ with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in the hearts of all that love me,
Christ in the mouth of friend and stranger.

See the whole prayer here

Slightly different words.

Credit for this craft to goes to one of the many wonderful homeschooling moms that I know. When I find out which one (or remember), I will give credit where it is due!

Hail Mary

A part of First Communion preparation is learning the basic prayers (of course). I have been working with James on saying his prayers and he is doing a great job!

However, with missing teeth and a few normal (I think) 7 year old speech glitches, the words are not always clear.

And, at least when my last son was took his first communion "test", the sister administering the test was very particular about this. That is not the reason I am posting this though. I just love the way kids sound when saying their prayers.

It almost makes me sad when they learn to say the "right".
