It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Advent...

I wish it I could claim that the lack of decorations around my house is due to a deep conviction that we should save decorating until closer to Christmas. While it does comfort me that we are keeping with the season of advent, finding time (and energy!) is, in part, the real issue. And then realizing that what comes up must come down.

So I procrastinate. In years past it worked for me- the older kids would often dig in and get the job done when they were at home. I am not sure the boys are that passionate about creating that Christmas feel.

But we have been enjoying advent. And I do have a some decorations up.

A few child friendly nativities:

And my favorite new decorations from last year:

Grand-babies!

While looking for our advent things, I came across some little decorations that my boys made years ago. So, when I took down our saints display, I replaced it with these-

I was so excited for the boys to see it. Paul's comment: "who made those?"
Oh, well. They are still special to me. ;)

Happy Advent!!

Laurie, I just wrote about the pressure I put on myself to get things up quickly when I really want to just take my time. And then I think about how it all has to come down and start moving a little more quickly putting them up.

I remember seeing your nativity sets from last year. They are so cute! I bet those grandbabies love to play with them :)

Enjoy your weekend!
